Alderley EdgeAlderley Edge is a well-to-do village in Cheshire, and also the name of the hill at whose foot the village stands. The village, six miles north-west of Macclesfield and fifteen miles south of Manchester, serves as a commuter town for the latter. The hill known as Alderley Edge is a steep and thickly wooded sandstone ridge dominating the area's vistas and looking out over the Cheshire Plain. Alderley Edge is part of Cheshire's 'Golden Triangle', famous for its affluence and expensive houses, and accordingly it has a selection of cafés and designer shops catering to the townsfolk's purses.
