This template generates a book citation as above, using the {{cite book}} template.

Usage

Optional parameters:

• edition – see below
• page - The relevant page number for a specific citation — the "p." prefix is added automatically
• pages - The relevant page numbers for a specific citation — the "pp." prefix is added automatically

If both |page= and |pages= are specified, |page= is ignored.

• publisher – use |publisher=GLO for early typewritten editions, otherwise omit this parameter.
• ref - ID for anchor; if omitted, and |edition= is set, the special value |ref=harv is used, so that {{harvnb|Daniels|Dench|1964|p=FOO}} {{harvnb|Daniels|Dench|1973|pp=FOO–BAR}} etc. will link.

Apart from the default value |ref=harv, the four parameters are passed unchanged to {{cite book}} - see that template's documentation for further information.

Edition

There are at least five editions. This book was first published by GLO in 1962, and was 33 typewritten and duplicated pages; a second edition was produced in February 1963, which was 36 pages, again typewritten. The book was republished by Ian Allan in September 1964, and a second edition of this (110 pages) was published in May 1973 with a third (144 pages) in November 1980. Each successive edition expanded on the previous, to include stations that had closed in the meantime; accordingly, the pagination is very different.

The |edition= and |publisher= parameters are used to set appropriate values for six of the parameters passed to {{cite book}}. Valid values are shown below. If this parameter is not set, those six items are not shown.
