Stoke Rivers is a small village five miles north-east of Barnstaple, in northern Devon (within the county's Shirwell Hundred).
The wider parish of Stoke Rivers comprises the village itself as well as several scattered farmsteads.[1]
There is also the mediæval parish church of St Bartholomew and a small Baptist church.
The name derives from the Rivers family, who formerly owned the village.[2]
