Stob Poite Coire Ardair is a mountain in the western part of the Monadhliath Mountains of Inverness-shire, which reaches a height of 3,458 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro.

Stob Poite Coire Ardair, Carn Liath and Creag Meagaidh form a ring around Coire Ardair with steep crags in all directions. Stob Poite Coire Ardair is separated from Creag Meagaidh by a low col with steep slopes on other side known as "the Window".

Ascents

Stob Poite Coire Ardair may be climbed together with Carn Liath and Creag Meagaidh, a tour reckoned by many to be one of Scotland's best walks.

The normal route of ascent up Stob Poite Coire Ardair is from the large car park to the southeast, on the A86. From the head of Coire Ardair is a steep climb to "the Window", the col between the Stob and Creag Meagaidh. From here a long summit ridge follows the northern rim of Coire Ardair leading to Carn Liath, a fair walk but with a deadly hazard on the south facing crags.

The south ridge drops to "The Window" before a steep climb up to Creag Meagaidh on the latter mountain's eastern ridge.

Winter walks are popular, but snow gathers on the crags leaving deceptive cornices above the drop. This Munro makes a fantastic winter climb as Coire Ardair gathers prodigious snowfields, though consequently it is prone to avalanches.
