Staunton in the Vale is a small village in Nottinghamshire, close by the meeting point of Nottinghamshire with Lincolnshire and Leicestershire, which was once marked by a tree called the Three Shire Oak.

To the south of the hamlet is Staunton Hall. The River Devon rises in the grounds of Staunton Hall and shortly thereafter begins to mark the border of Nottinghamshire with Leicestershire.
