St Austell Bay is a bay on Cornwall's south coast which is bounded to the east by Gribbin Head and to the west by Black Head.
The eastern and western coasts of the bay are cliff-bound, sheltering the bay from the worst of the storms. At the top of St Austell Bay though runs a series of villages; Duporth, Porthpean, then the hisitoric harbour of Charlestown (north of which, inland, stands St Austell itself), then Carlyon Bay, which has a long, sandy beach. Beyond Carlyon Beach are the docks at Par and Par Sands.
Past Par Sands, the coastline turns south, running to Polkerris and then the cliffs run out to Black Head, the eastern headland of the bay.
The South West Coast Path follows the shore of St Austell Bay.
