Sendmarsh or Send Marsh is a village in Surrey near Send, quiet and on its own but within 2 miles of the M25 motorway and the A3 trunk road. Nearby villages include Send, Ripley, Pyrford and Ockham.
The village began as one of the scattered hamlets of Send, but it has taken on a life of its own, growing to about the size of its parent. A pretty village, and thus attractive to incomers, it has spread along Send Marsh Road as it adjoins the old Portsmouth Road, and become joined to neighbouring Ripley.
The village built initially around a village green and the "big house", which still form the centre of the village. Nearby are the flooded pits found all around the Send area, from the extraction of sand and gravel.
The manor house is an attractive 17th century grand house, located on the village green. The village has one public house called the Saddlers Arms and no shops nor church. It is however close by the church and village shops of Ripley and Send. For commuters it is conveniently close to the A3 for Guildford and far further afield.
