Salem is a little town towards the west coast of Montserrat, in the Parish of Saint Peter.
This is the most populous town in Montserrat since the destruction of the capital, Plymouth by the Soufrière Hills volcano in 1997. Salem itself was evacuated after the 1997 eruptions, but has since been resettled.
Salem is found near Woodlands, Cork Hill and Old Towne in the north of the island. The island's only secondary school, Montserrat Secondary School is in Salem.
