Ryan Reef is an isolated reef lying off the north coast of South Georgia, half a nautical mile north of the east entrance point of Doris Bay.
The reef appears on a chart based upon surveys by Discovery Investigations personnel in the period 1925–1931, but it may have been charted earlier.
The reef was re-charted by the South Georgia Survey in the 1951–1952 season, and named after A. R.L. Ryan, president of Larsen's company which operated the whaling station at Grytviken in South Georgia, after whom the Ryan Glacier is also named.
