The Roman River Reserve

Roman River Valley is a nature reserve of 44 acres to the north of Layer de la Haye in Essex. It is a wetland site along the Roman River, with ancient woodland and marshes.

The reserve is managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust.[1] Aquatic plants found here include the uncommon small teasel (Dipsacus pilosus), and there are flowering plants such as yellow archangel and moschatel.[1]

Location

There is access from the B1026 road north of Layer de la Haye.[1]
