River Sligachan

The River Sligachan is a mountain-born river on the Isle of Skye, in Inverness-shire. It rises on the Cuillin Hills in the heart of the island, amongst the jumbled slopes and corries of Am Basteir, in a union of little burns of the lopes. The stream thence flows east in a little valley known as the Harta Corrie, before swelling and turning north, carving Glen Sligachan.
At the foot of the glen, the river passes beneath a stone bridge carrying the A87.
Soon afterwards, the Sligachan enters the head of Loch Sligachan, a sea loch opening into the Sound of Raasay opposite the southern point of Raasay (and from which a vehicle ferry sails).
