Retallack is a village near St Columb Major, in Cornwall. Most of the village has now been swallowed to become a 100-acre commercial theme park called "Spirit of the West".[1]
Outer Retallick (sic) is, or was, another village half a mile to the northwest of the village of Winnards Perch, which was destroyed to make way for a nearby highway roundabout. Outer Retallick Farm, still stands half a mile north-west of Retallack.
Name
The name comes from a local family, including John Retallack, listed as a local farmer in 1602.[2] Other Cornish localities named for this family include Retillick Farm (sic) near Roche (SW974593), Retallack Farm near Constantine (SW733304), and Retallack Mine near Millpool (SW573314)[3]
