Point Martin is a point on the side of Scotia Bay, on the south coast of Laurie Island in the South Orkney Islands, part of the British Antarctic Territory. The point projects from the east side of the Mossman Peninsula, a mile north-west of Cape Murdoch.

The point was charted in 1903 by the Scottish National Antarctic Expedition under William Speirs Bruce, who named it for J. Martin, an able seaman on the expedition ship Scotia, and who took part in the survey. The point was recharted by Discovery Investigations in 1933.

Important Bird Area

The point has been identified as an Important Bird Area by BirdLife International because it supports breeding colonies of over 26,000 pairs of Adélie penguins and 13,000 pairs of chinstrap penguins.[1]
