Netherton is a hamlet forming the north end of Fyfield in northern Berkshire, and with the villages of Fyfield and Tubney (a step to the east) it shares a civil parish.
Netherton is about 4½ miles west of Abingdon.
The name "Netherton" is widespread in Great Britain, and in each case it is the Old English neotherra tun meaning "lower estate", although others have suggested neotherra dun ("lower hill") in the case of Berkshire's Netherton as it was recorded as Netendon in 1193, although it lies in the Thames Valley with not a hill in sight.
Netherton is primarily residential.
