Muirhead is a small village in Angus. Its neighbouring village to the east, with which its shares several facilities, is Birkhill, and the two have so run into each other that there is barely a distinction to be made.

The parish kirk stands in Muirhead.

About the village

Muirhead has a number of convenient local ficilities; a village shop, a garage, a chemist and a doctor's surgery. It has a police station. The Scout hut is here.

The Millennium Hall is the village hall serving both Muirhead and Birkhill. It hosts clubs and events. The Scout Hall is also hired for events.

Beside the village is a stables and riding school.

Birkhill Primary School

Each year, round about May or early June the school has its official sports day. The pupils from all classes are split up into houses, named Bruce, Duncan, Gray and Wallace. This year's 2008 winners were wallace.

When they graduate from Birkhill P.S most go to Monifieth High.
