The Mineral Tramway Trails trails are a series of trails located in westerly Cornwall, in the old mining area. They have been built largely following the tracks of the railways and tramways which were once strung across the landscape linking the mines and industry together and to the sea.
Current trails
The trails in this group are:
Coast to Coast Trail | 11 miles | From Devoran (south coast) to Portreath (north coast) following disused tramways |
Great Flat Lode Trail | 7½ miles | A circular trail encompassing much of the mining area to the south of Redruth and Camborne |
Portreath Branchline Trail | 5½ miles | Portreath to Brea on the line of the old Hayle Railway |
Redruth and Chasewater Trail | 7½ miles | Tracing the old Redruth and Chasewater Ralway |
Tehidy Trail | 2½ miles | Through Tehidy Country Park |
Tolgus Trail | < 1 mile | Connecting Redruth station to the Coast to Coast Trail at Cambrose, along the Portreath Valley |
Tresavean Trail | 1 mile | Tracing a branch of the Hayle Railway which served the Tresavean Copper Mine |
