Middleton Hall is a Georgian country house standing to the south of the hamlet of Earle in Northumberland.
The house was built on the site of a medieval bastle house.[1] This may also have been the location of a village in the Middle Ages, recorded as 'Middleton-hall'.[2]
The house of today was built in 1807 for the Greenwich Hospital Commissioners: the datestone in the pediment bears the initials 'GH', either for the Greenwich Hospital or for the first tenant. George Hughes. The house is a Grade II listed building.[3]
The house is on two storeys with three bays with lower wings projecting to side and rear. Ten steps lead up to six-panelled door in open Tuscan porch. The side panels of the porch are of the later 19th century.
