Michaelstow is a village in north Cornwall, about three miles south of Camelford. The hamlets of Fentonadle and Treveighan are in the Parish of Michaelstow.
The village is in the Lesnewth Hundred.
The village is named for the dedication of its parish church to St Michael and All Angels: the name is old English for 'Michael's Place'.
The River Camel runs along its eastern edge and the surrounding parishes are Lanteglos-by-Camelford to the north, St Breward to the east, St Tudy to the south and St Teath to the west.[1]
Around the village
Helsbury Castle, an iron age hill fort, stands on Michaelstow Beacon half-a-mile north of the village. Its name is Cornish, Bre Henlys meaning 'Old Court'.
