Mey is a remote village on the north coast of Caithness, six miles west of John o' Groats and just half a mile southeast of the Loch of Mey. The Castle of Mey stands a mile northeast overlooking Mey Bay. There is also a hotel run in the former coaching inn which also boasts a shop.
