Meall Chuaich is a mountain of the Drumochter Hills in Inverness-shire, which reaches a height of 3,120 feet at its summit, and so it qualifies as a Munro. It is a relatively isolated mountain, the most northerly of the Drumochter Hills.
The summit of Meall Chuaich is not the dramatic point that some have but a pleasantly rounded top.
Several small corries indent the northern and north-western faces, and above them broad ridges to the north-east and south-west.
Climbers general prefer an ascent up the south-west ridge as this comes down close to the A9. The hill rises from the eastern shores of Loch Cuiach.
The mountain's steep eastern flanks are renowned for drama amongst the relatively few who have seen them, hidden as they are from places frequented by man.
