Marden is an urban village in the very siouth-east of Northumberland, pressed between the towns of North Shields and Cullercoats and wholly contiguous with both and the wider conurbation. It is inland of Cullercoats, which runs along the coast, south of Whitley Bay.

Marden consists of a housing estate built in the 20th century.

The area has a secondary school, Marden High School on Hartington Road.

Parish church

The parish church is St Hilda's.[1] The church was founded in 1955, but was moved to its current site in 1966.[2]
