Loch Watten is a loch in Caithness, close by the village of Watten, which sits by the loch's southern shore. The burn draining from the foot of the loch feeds the Wick River.
The name of the water is from Old Norse, and in its current form it is tautologous: 'Watten' is the Norse vatn meaning "water" or "lake", and 'Loch' is likewise "Lake", though from Gaelic.
The loch is well known as a good fly fishing loch for brown trout.
