Little Houghton is a village in Northamptonshire, about two miles east of Northampton. This is not a large place: the 2011 census recorded a population of just 412.
In front of the parish hall is a set of stocks and a whipping post. They are not used today.
Just off the A428 road between Bedford and Northampton, the village overlooks old gravel pits, (now converted to reservoirs) and a canal. Just across the valley is Billing Aquadrome.
To the north at Clifford Hill by the River Nene is the surviving motte of Little Houghton Castle.
Parish church
The parish church is dedicated to St Mary the Virgin.
