Knocknahunshin is a townland in Fermanagh, in the Barony of Magheraboy and the civil parish of Boho. It lies between the townlands of Glenkeel and Reyfad.[1]
The name of the townland is from Cnoc na hUinseann, meaning 'Hill of the ash trees'.
Within Knocknahunshin are eight sub-townland: Arduagh, Carricknamulloge, Carricknine, Horse Rock, Legloughra, Owneyglas, Silkins and Sterrickinard.[1]
This area is mentioned as far back as 1672 as "K:nahinshina".[2] Later on, in 1834, it is found referred to by its Irish name of Cnoc na h-Uinnsean.[2]
