Kirkcarrion is prominent knoll on the slope of Harter Fell above Teesdale. It is found above the hamlet of Bowbank and the B6276, in the North Riding of Yorkshire
At the top of the hill is a manmade mound, which is said to be the burial place of a Bronze Age chieftain. It is covered by a copse of pine trees, surrounded by a stone wall. The trees were planted by Elija Foster and his son Alan Foster of Lowside Farm in 1936.
