Kilmacow is a small village in County Kilkenny. The townland of Kilmacow is south of the village. The name means 'Mochua's church'.[1]

The village is to be found about four miles south of Mullinavat and five miles north from Waterford City, and consists of an Upper and Lower Village half a mile apart. The population of the two together is about 650. The Blackwater river runs through both the Upper and Lower Villages.

Sport and leisure

Kilmacow has a hurling team which competes in the Junior Hurling Championship. However, they have failed to win the championship since 1956. Kilmacow also has a soccer team and a camogie club ranging from under-8s to juniors.
