Killimster is a small remote scattered hamlet on the east coast of Caithness.
RAF Skitten was located at Killimster; this was the departure point in 1942 for Operation Freshman, an airborne assault using gliders on the Vemork Norsk Hydro chemical plant in Telemark, Norway, which produced heavy water for the German atomic programme.
