Karrakatta Valley is a valley running west-north-west from Husvik on Stromness Bay on the north coast of South Georgia
The valley is named after the hulk Karrakatta on a slipway at the abandoned whaling station at Husvik. Built in Oslo in 1912, the Karrakatta served as a whale catcher off western Australia, and was last used at the slipway to provide steam to an adjacent engineering shop, probably until 1959.
