The König River is a proglacial river of South Georgia draining water from the lake formed from meltwater from the König Glacier into Fortuna Bay across the Busen Region in the north of the island. The river is named in association with the König Glacier, which in turn is named after Felix König, an Austrian mountaineer with the German Antarctic Expedition of 1911-12.
