Hendraburnick Down

Hendraburnick Down is a shallow hill in northern Cornwall, south of Boscastle. The A39 ‘Atlantic Highway’ runs over the hill, which is placed in the green, fertile yet wind-scoured zone between Bodmin Moor to the south and the steep valleys of the craggy north coast.
Notwithstanding its dull profile, the hill reaches 1,009 feet at its summit.
The village of Davidstow is on the eastern slope of the hill, while Hendraburnick, the hamlet from which the hill takes its name, is to the west. Otterham Station is just north, up the A39.
The steep valley in which Boscastle lies, and several of its tributary valleys, begin on the northern slopes of Hendraburnick Down. Cornwall's county top, Brown Willy on Bodmin Moor, is a little to the south, as the moor rises up dramatically inland.
Several Bronze Age barrows are found on the slopes of the hill, including Tich Barrow.
The source of the River Camel is to be found on Hendraburnick Down.
