Hearts Delight is a hamlet in northern Kent, half a mile south of Borden and a mile and a half south-west of Sittingbourne town centre.

This part of Kent is criss-crossed with close little lanes linking farmsteads and hamlets, and Hearts Delight is at a meeting of such lanes, growing itself from a farm of the same name.

History and heritage

According to Edward Hasted, writing in 1798, Heart's Delight was a small hamlet in the parish of Borden. Wrens Farm was an estate in 1664 (but called 'Rains Farm') and was owned by a squire from Tunstall.[1]

The hamlet has four listed buildings, each Grade II listed:

  • Hearts Delight House,[2]
  • Filmer House,[3]
  • Sharp's House,[4]
  • Wren's Farmhouse[5]
