Haywood Oaks is a tiny hamlet in Nottinghamshire, immediately south of Blidworth and ten miles from the county town, Nottingham, in the centre of the county.
In 1931 the village had a recorded population of just 17, but by 1961 the population had increased to 756. Most of the population of Haywood Oaks is concentrated around the area around Dale Lane and Haywood Oaks Lane.
There is no church in Haywood Oaks and it continues as an extra parochial area in the Church of England.
History
The name "Haywood" means 'Enclosed wood'.[1]
