Gun Hill is a hill of West Falkland climbing to 1,060 feet and overlooking Chartres Settlement across the tidal estuary of the Chartres River. It is part of the same range south of Chartres as Mount Doyle to the south and Mount Philomel to the south-east.
To the west if a minor top, Stony Hill, and beyond it the open waters of Port Philomel. The land to the west extends in neck known as The Narrows between Port Philomel to the south and Christmas Harbour and King George Bay to the north. Another Gun Hill is found on the Narrows.
