Green Gable is a hill of Signy Island in the South Orkney Islands in the British Antarctic Territory.
This hill rises to about 675 feet to the west of the island's Paal Harbour, and north-west of Rusty Bluff. It is named for the green slopes (due to vegetation) below the hill's cliffs.
Hanging Gardens
The Hanging Gardens (60°43’1"S, 45°36’4"W) are a terraced moss hillside with extensive moss banks and moss carpet through which a waterfall flows, on the east side of Green Gable. The slope faces north-east into Paal Harbour.
The Hanging Gardens were surveyed by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey in 1947-1950. The slope was photographed from the air by Royal Navy in 1968.
