Gray Rock

Gray Rock is the third largest of the western group of the Clerke Rocks south-east of South Georgia. It lies to the north of Kemp Island, surrounded by several large rocks and stacks and numerous smaller rocks, supports breeding colonies of Antarctic seabirds.
The rock is named after James Gray, Boatswain on HMS Adventure which accompanied Cook on his second voyage of exploration when he discovered the Clerke Rocks in 1775.
