Glevum Way

The Glevum Way is a 26-mile walking trail encircling Gloucester, tightly tucked around the bounds of the townscape all in the Vale of Gloucester and on the east side of the River Severn.
The broad meadows of the River Severn form a large part of the walk. West of the city the walk crosses onto the 'island' between the Severn and the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal and the more natural island known as Alney Island, between the main river and a backwater. West of the city the walk runs over Churchdown Hill.
The route is named after the ancient Roman name of Gloucester, Gleuum.
