The Old Kirk at Kirkton of Glenbuchat

Glenbuchat otherwise Glenbucket is a parish in Aberdeenshire, two miles north-east of Strathdon, on the road to Aberdeen. This place is supposed to derive its name from the Water of Buchat, which, rising among lofty mountains, intersects the parish, and falls into the Don near the Glenbuchat Castle, the ancient seat of the Gordons of Glenbuchat.

The Old Kirk is a Category A listed building. Dated 1629, it was rebuilt in 1792 and possibly incorporating fabric from 1473. The belfry contains bells dated 1643.
