Galltair is a remote coastal, scattered crofting township overlooking Gills Bay on the north coast of Caithness. It was once a fishing village, though no longer.

The village consists of Upper Gills to the south and the main township on the coast. It is to be found on the A836 north coast road, directly between the villages of Mey to the west and the village of Canisbay to the east.

A ferry terminal on Gills Bay runs a ferry service to Orkney.
