Fyfield is a village in north-western Berkshire, in the Fyfield and Tubney civil parish, about 4½ miles west of Abingdon. The village used to be on the main A420 road between Oxford and Faringdon, but a bypass now carries the main road just south of the village and allows Fyfield to drowse in peace.
The White Hart public house in the village was formerly a chantry house, built in the 15th century by the executors of Sir John Golafre (died 1442). It has been owned by St John's College, Oxford since 1580.[1]
