Summary

Description
English: The Museum of Lead Mining, Wanlockhead. Lead was mined in the hills around Wanlockhead till 1934, then again in 1957-58. Gold and silver has also been mined here since Roman times and local gold was used in James V's crown of 1540. This stone-built museum formerly housed a Miners' Subscription Library.
