The Falls of Glomach in Ross-shire are one of the highest waterfalls in the United Kingdom, falling 370 feet on the little Allt a' Ghlomaich burn, at NH017257.
The burn comes off the mountains of the Inverinate Forest (bare mountainside; the "forest" is in the old sense of open land) and runs down to Glen Elchaig to fall into the River Elchaig a mile or so before the Falls of Glomach.
The falls are on the land of the National Trust for Scotland, by the Kintail estate donated to the in 1944. The waterfall is not easily reached on foot, requiring a 5-mile trek through remote and wild countryside.
