Embury Beacon is the site of an Iron Age promontory fort on a dramatic cliff on the north coast of Devon. It looks out over the west-facing cliffs of the Hartland Peninsula, south of Hartland Point where the coastline of Devon turns from west to south. The little village of Welcombe is a mile inland of here to the south-east.
The fort almost entirely been lost to coastal erosion, but a fraction of the eastern ramparts still exist at about 500 feet above sea level.
