East Island is a small island in the north of Diego Garcia, an atoll of the British Indian Ocean Territory.
The island is the northernmost part of the atoll to break the surface. It is separated from the end of the main island by the Barton Pass, providing a sea passage into the lagoon at its northern end. To its west lies Middle Island.
