East Anstey is a village in the north of Devon. The parish is located in an area which has been designated as an area of 'Great Landscape Value'.[1]
The name 'Anstey' is derived from the Old English word anstiga meaning 'hill pathway for one',[2] or 'single pathway'.
Parish church
The parish church is the Church of St Michael. It has a 15th-century tower and south porch but which was largely rebuilt in 1871. It is a Grade II listed building.[3]
