Dungourney is a village in County Cork on the R627 road, five and a half miles north-east of Midleton. The River Dungourney flows through the village.
A school, St Peter's National School, stands in the centre of the village. There is a church in the west of the village and a post office across the road. Several roads run out to Midleton, Castlematyr and Tallow.
The name of the village is from the Irish Dún Guairne, menaung 'Guairne's fort'.[1]

The Fitzgibbon Cup, the hurling competition contested by university teams, is named after Dungourney man Fr. Edwin Fitzgibbon, born in 1884.
