Derrycrin or Derrychrin is a small village and townland in Tyrone, sitting near the western shore of Lough Neagh. The Ballinderry River is a short distance north of the village and marks the boundary between counties Tyrone and Londonderry.
The name of the village is from the Gaelic language, of uncertain origin but perhaps from Doire Críon, which would mean 'Withered oak-grove'.[1]
The village spreads over two townlands:
- Derrycrin (Conyngham)
- Derrycrin (Eglish)
Sport
- Gaelic sport: Ballinderry Shamrocks (football and camogie)
