Cockburn Peak is a peak rising to 1,476 feet and forming the summit and most conspicuous landform of Cockburn Island in the James Ross Island Group in the British Antarctic Territory.
The island lies to the east of James Ross Island and was discovered by Ross on 1 January 1843, who described the peak as a volcanic crater-like peak. It was surveyed by the Swedish Antarctic Expedition in 1903 and by the Falkland Islands Dependencies Survey, 1947.
Following geological fieldwork by the British Antarctic Survey on the island in 1995-96, the hill was named in association with the island.
