About the parish

In the townland of Churchclara stand the ruins of the old parish church.

A modern Roman Catholic church, St Colman's, stands at the centre of the parish, within Rathgarvan townland.

Clara Castle is a five-storey tower house built in the fifteenth century by the Shortall family.[2]
