Chinstrap Point is the south-east point of Vindication Island, amongst the South Sandwich Islands.
The headland was named descriptively 'Rocky Point' by Discovery Investigations in 1930. Following a survey from HMS Protector in 1964, the point was renamed more distinctively as 'Chinstrap Point', after the local colony of chinstrap penguins (pygoscelis antarctica).
