Chinbrook is a Kent village, deep in the urban areas of the north-west of the county within the metropolitan conurbation. It stands between Grove Park and Mottingham.

The River Quaggy flows northward through Chinbrook. The Quaggy was also known until at least the opening of the twentieth century as the Chin Brook, giving its name to the village. Another urbanised village, Kidbrooke is also on the River Quaggy and its name is also derived from an alternative name for the river, "Kyd Brook".

The village has a goodly range of local shops and a small doctor's surgery. An Elim Pentecostal church, Word of Life Church stands on Mayeswood Road in the Grove Park Estate.

About the village

As well as the public Chinbrook Meadows there are also several private sports grounds, a youth club, and a Bannatyne gym–health club, built in 2001 replacing an older sports club.

Chinbrook Meadows

Chinbrook Meadows is a public open spaces in the south of Chinbrook and Grove Park, the area was previously occupied by Chinbrook Farm, a dairy farm. The park was first formally opened to the public in 1929. The majority of the park is maintained short grass and bisected by the River Quaggy. The grass often has markings for football pitches, a cricket ground and other sports.
